People in Liverpool are being urged to nominate their hospital heroes for a special award – the Proud of Aintree Award.
As part of its annual staff awards, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is asking members of the public to nominate members of staff who have delivered an exceptional service.
The Trust wants to recognise those unsung heroes, who have done an outstanding job in providing safe and compassionate care, who have gone above and beyond to support patients and their families and who have always got a smile on their face.
Steve Warburton, Chief Executive at Aintree University Hospital, said: “Our staff work tirelessly to care for our patients and the Proud of Aintree Excellence Awards enable us to show them that we acknowledge and appreciate the care that they provide.
“This is a chance to celebrate the teams and individuals who are helping us to get it right for every patient, every time and who make us all truly proud of Aintree. We’re asking for our patients and their friends, family and carers to nominate people who have made a real difference.”
Nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 23 September. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday 11 November.
The Proud of Aintree Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of the hospital’s 4,500 employees. Other categories include Employee of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Safety, which teams are able to put themselves forward for.
Last year, Donna Murray, Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist in Aintree’s Marina Dalglish Breast Unit, was named as winner of the Proud of Aintree award after being nominated by her patients.
