Rotary club and Morrisons staff help raise 3500 for Sue Ryder charity

Morrissons Southport staff and members of the Southport Rotary Club have jointly presented over £500 to the Sue Ryder Charity.

Working in partnership with Morrison’s, and their “Community Champion” Anna Ingram, the Rotary Club of Southport has carried out a series of collections over the last year, on behalf of local charities.

The most recent collection in October was on behalf of “Sue Ryder” which, thanks to the generosity of Morrison’s customers in Southport, raised £588.58!

The cheque to the Charity was presented at the Formal Opening of the New Improved Morrison’s Store in Southport on Thursday, 10th November by Rotarian David Brayshaw, in the presence of the Store Manager, John Brooksbank, along with Rotary President David Slinger and Rotary’s Community Service Chairman, Ian Hitchcock.

Sue Ryder, which has a charity shop at 23 Lord Street, provides a wide range of care and support for people with life changing conditions, and is one of Morrison’s chosen Charities for 2016.

The Rotary Club of Southport has been supporting the local community for the last 94 years, and last year the club provided over £16,000 of donations and services to charities and good causes,
