Bootle is getting a pop-up pub with a charitable Scouse twist!

There’s a pop-up pub coming to Bootle this December and it has a heart warming Scouse twist.

For every meal bought in the pub a meal will be given to a local person in need.

The Little Merton pop-up pub is being set up by Bootle based charity, SAFE Regeneration, and will be opening on Merton Road, L20 4AH.

Meals will be provided to those in need by food organisation CanCook who also run the Share Your Lunch campaign.

The pub is hoping to bring Christmas cheer with food , drink, live music and a cosy open fire.

Jane Johnson, community development officer for SAFE Regeneration, said: “SAFE have been working with our local community on the Bootle canal-side for over ten years , supporting new businesses, creating public artworks and offering a place for many disadvantaged people to grow, to work, to connect and to dream.”

“A complete renovation of the pub will take place in 2017 but in the meantime, we wanted to hold some very special Xmas events in ‘Pop Up Pub’ style.

“We want local people to really be involved in the project and take ownership and these events offer that opportunity.”

There is a special pub quiz arranged to kick start the pop-up celebrations on Thursday, December 8.

The quiz night is going to be hosted by a special guest and is £5. The fee includes a bowl of homemade scouse and entry into the quiz.

Bookings are now open for the pub quiz and the pub ‘feast style dining’ which starts on Friday, December 9, on Eventbrite here.
