A WATERLOO coffee shop welcomed the former lead singer of The Zutons for a special performance which helped raise money for charity.
Roast Coffee and Kitchen, on Crosby Road North, was celebrating its first anniversary since opening and they did it in style by organising a range of different events.
Perhaps the highlight was an appearance from Dave McCabe, the ex-frontman of former Liverpool band The Zutons.
In total, the different events managed to rise £700 for a charity called Beat, which supports anyone affected by eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia or any other difficulties with food, weight and shape.
Kevin Renshall, owner of Roast Coffee and Kitchen said: “It’s not everyday you get to celebrate achieving your dream with a globetrotting, multi-platinum selling artist playing a few tunes in your very own little coffee house in Waterloo! Whilst raising money for charity!
“I’m making it sound hard work and traumatic but it was far from it because we live in a community that never ceases to amaze us.
“All we did was ask and we got as everyone we approached bought into the idea and wanted to raise money.
“So, we raise a coffee to friends, community & here’s to the next year of Roast Coffee and Kitchen.”
