Friends of Kings Gardens in Southport set out 12 month plan

The Friends of Kings Gardens have announced their initial twelve month roster of events to take place in the promenade based park.

Beginning on February 8, health walks will take place at 10:30am and able walkers should meet at the carousel before embarking on the stroll around the gardens.

A similar event takes place on both March 4 and March 8.

May will be a busy month for the Friends of Kings Gardens team as they host the Classic Parks show on May 1 followed by the first Open Air Cinema display of 2017 – a viewing of Pete’s Dragon on May 6.

The cinema returns again on June 16 when Grease will be shown for the second time.

A heritage event looking at Southport’s past and the history behind Kings Gardens will be held on July 15 with full details being announced near to the time.

Finally a screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be shown at the open air cinema on September 1.

A spokesperson for the Friends of Kings Gardens said: “all events are held within the Community Garden (which is opposite the Royal Clifton Hotel.
