Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help. From telling friends about Dementia Friends to visiting someone you.

Applying for Grant Funding for Heritage Buildings (2017 Update)

Info: Attendees will be looking at: ‘Ten Top Tips’ guidance principles for applying for grant funding for heritage buildings (based upon the principles that have successfully been employed in the context of places of worship); Real-life (anonymised) examples;
Exercises to enable participants to “have a go” at writing some sections of an application form; Have an opportunity to ask questions in the Q&A session.

Marketing and Customer Service Masterclass

Info: Attendees will understand: the concepts and function of services marketing; the
marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion) to help achieve competitive
advantage; the whole patient/client approach using appropriate listening skills, values, acknowledgement of the customer and patient need. Recognise the importance of physical evidence in terms of how first impressions count. Increase knowledge on how to make their service market ready. Recognise the importance of building trust and core relationships with stakeholders and commissioners.

Info: This short masterclass will briefly cover: Government Counter Terrorism strategy known as CONTEST; Threat levels; Channel – this is a safeguarding initiative;
Merseyside terrorism arrest examples; Conviction DVD – a true story of a vulnerable
individual radicalised via the internet and now imprisoned for terrorism offences.

Suicide Prevention Awareness

Info: After the session we anticipate attendees will be able to: Identify signs that might
suggest someone is thinking about suicide; Recognise risk and identify key risk factors; List key support services for people who feel suicidal; Have increased confidence to ask direct questions about suicide.

Making Every Contact Count Level 1

Info: Making Every Contact Count’s (MECC) aim is to maximize the opportunities front line workers have to increase the number of healthy chats in Sefton. We will equip
attendees to do this by providing an overview of the health and wellbeing of the Sefton
population; increase knowledge about the key health messages; highlight what support services are available and what they provide; introduce the skills to have a healthy chat; recognize the opportunities to have a healthy chat; use the 3A’s to deliver a healthy chat in Sefton.
