Volunteer Befriending Co-ordinator
Hours: 25 hours per week. This is fixed term contract until March 31st 2020.
Salary: £10.50 per hour (Actual salary £13,650, FTE £19,110)
Have you developed and delivered training in the past? Do you have experience of working with volunteers? Do you have an understanding of the impact of mental health conditions on women? If you answer yes to the above then this may be the job for you.
The SWAN centre are very excited that we can deliver this new befriending project which is aimed at women in Sefton who are experiencing isolation, anxiety, depression, isolation or other mental health conditions. They may have been in hospital due to their condition and have little or no family or friends who are regularly in touch.
Your role will include training and matching volunteer befrienders who will offer friendship, support, a listening ear and opportunities to get involved in things outside of the home. Your role will be to develop a training package that will ensure that Befrienders are able to carry out their roles effectively and safely. You will manage and support the befrienders as well as being responsible for the administration of the project.
You will be office based and the role will be carried out over 4 days per week Tuesday – Friday though some evening work may be required throughout the year.
