Sefton residents involved in local voluntary, community and faith (VCF) sector groups are being invited to a major event on the theme of collaboration later this month.
The Sefton CVS 2017 annual conference – Growth through Collaboration – will be held at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre in Waterloo from 9am to 4pm on Thursday 19th October.
Delegates will be able to find out about up-to-date sources of grants and finance from the representatives of around 15 local, regional and national funding bodies that will be exhibiting at the event.
The free event will explore opportunities and advantages of VCF sector groups joining forces to develop strength, and maximising their assets and resources.
The conference is being sponsored by Rathbone Greenbank Investments, the ethical and sustainable investment arm of Rathbones, one of the UK’s leading investment managers.
The organisation’s Liverpool-based Investment Director, Nick Roe-Ely, will be one of the speakers at the event. Other guest speakers will include Debra Allcock Tyler, Chief Executive of the Directory of Social Change, Sefton’s Director of Health and Social Care Dwayne Johnson and Rae Brooke, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation for Merseyside.
The conference will also feature a series of workshops on the themes of funding and collaboration.
Sefton CVS Chief Executive, Angela White OBE, commented: “These are still very challenging times for the VCF sector, and partnership and consortium working are vital if groups are to thrive in the future.
“That’s why we’ve made collaboration the theme of our annual conference this year, and invited a range of experts on the subject to pass on their expertise and experience to representatives of groups based here in Sefton.”
The Sefton CVS conference is free but advance booking is essential. To register for one of the limited number of remaining places ring 0151 920 0726 or find out more at www.seftoncvs.org.uk/conference.
