Bootle Town Centre Heritage and Cultural Centre Consultation (closing 1st Dec) & Pop-Up History Event (23-28th Oct)

In 2016 Sefton Council published the Bootle Town Centre Investment Framework.  This is a plan about the future of Bootle.  The Framework has been prepared at a time when there is less money available to the Council.  So Partnership working is even more important.

During consultation on the Framework people told us that they would like to see more heritage and cultural activity in the Town Centre.  They would also like to see the Town Hall buildings used more.  We are now looking at the potential to include a heritage and cultural space within the Town Hall buildings, while still keeping Council civic uses in there.

We are at the very early stages of this project and we are trying to find out what people think about these ideas.  I would be grateful if you could circulate information via your members to encourage them to take part in the consultation event about this project and complete the questionnaire.

The questionnaire is available online – please click here

There will are also be hard copies available at Bootle Town Hall, Bootle Library, The Atkinson, Strand by Me and at Formby, Crosby, Netherton, Southport and Maghull libraries. The consultation ends on 1st December 2017.

There will also be a Bootle Stories – Pop-Up History event in The Strand Shopping Centre.  This will take place in the former Blue Inc. unit, close to Argos.  This will be an opportunity to talk to people about the proposals for a Heritage and Culture Centre within the Town Centre as well as complete the questionnaire.  There will also be a range of other activities taking place in the shop, including exhibitions and exhibits.

The shop will be open from Monday 23rd October to Saturday 28th October and then from Monday 6th November to Saturday 11th November.  The shop will be open from 10am – 4pm each day.  Further details about the Bootle Stories event will be available as more activities are confirmed.

We would love to see as many people as possible at Bootle Stories – Pop-Up History Event so if you could encourage your members to attend that would be great.
