School children from Walton have been getting a taste of the world of work with #’The Apprentice’ style tasks taking place at Sovini’s head office.
We’ve teamed up with St Francis de Sales Catholic Junior School to give pupils the opportunity to experience a real-life recruitment assessment centre.
The school’s ‘Investors Group’, made up of 23 nine year olds, were split into two teams and given group tasks such as designing job adverts and building the tallest tower out of assorted objects.
The event is part of St Francis de Sales School’s Investor Programme which, with the involvement of local partners, works to raise pupils’ confidence and aspirations as well as helping them develop the life skills needed for their education and future careers.
As part of this year’s programme, the children have been on a tour of our head office where they met directors, and a senior member of One Vision Housing (part of the Group) staff visited the school for a workshop on presentation skills. They also visited the 156 Regiment Army Reserve Camp for map reading activities and to learn about career opportunities within the Army. The programme will culminate in the summer with the children giving a final presentation to The Group’s Executive Management.
