Talking about Weight with Children, Young People and Families in Sefton (23rd / 26th November or 5th December 2018)

In April this year, Public Health commissioned Food Active to assist in the development of obesity training to equip education, health and social care professionals, with the skills and confidence to inform and support families about healthy weight and wellbeing.

Local insight work has taken place over the summer to inform the development of the training, with a range of staff groups (NHS, Council, VCF) taking part in focus groups and consultation.

In response, Food Active have developed a comprehensive training programme which will be piloted in late November and early December. A key aspect of the training will involve opening-up conversations and promoting behaviour change in a sensitive and effective way.
