‘Stabilising Lives’ – A short film from Merseyside Offender Mentoring Project

The Merseyside Offender Mentoring Project, managed by Sefton Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), provides mentoring and befriending support to offenders from HMP Liverpool, HMP Kirkham and HMP Risley before and after release, with the aim of helping them to resettle positively back into the community.

A comprehensive service is provided to support offenders in overcoming any barriers they face, with the objective of reducing reoffending rates significantly, and thus the consequent impact on the wider community.

During 2017/18 the project was funded by a range of agencies including the Big Lottery Fund, the Steve Morgan Foundation, Achieve North West, the John Armitage Charitable Trust, St Helens Council and HMP Liverpool.

‘Stabilising Lives’ was filmed and edited by Sefton Young Advisors and Sefton CVS’s Communications team, and the Merseyside Offender Mentoring would like to thank all partners, funders, mentors and mentees for taking part in this video.
