Job Vacancy: Community Builder with the L30 Community Centre (closing Monday 22nd July)

The L30 Communtiy Centre are looking for someone who can get alongside the Netherton community whilst it builds.

For the last two years we have been working in Netherton, thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, on developing asset based community development approaches across the area.  The focus on what’s strong rather than what’s wrong has enabled this community to begin to discover and connect what is already there.  In the last few months, the buds have started to flower and community members have stepped up to take the lead.  They want to see a village where neighbours get together and look out for each other, they want to see local businesses supported and growing; they want a village where children, young people and adults who are on the edge feel a sense of belonging.

They need a special person to support their growing vision.  Someone who can get alongside, steward and serve whilst walking backwards.  They are looking for someone who loves their village as much as they do.  Anyone who applies for the role from the village and meets the requirements will automatically be offered an interview.

We know that this is a long term role.  We know that we only have two years Lottery funding left at the moment.  We have hope and believe that this work will continue (believe not guarantee!).

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of something special in Netherton.  In addition to support from The National Lottery Community Fund the area is also a Big Local area. Local people are keen to create a legacy. Can you help them do it?  Do you want to see if you have the gifts, skills and passion that we are looking for?

Closing date for applications: Monday 22nd July 2019.

Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure and references are required if successful at interview.
