Canal & River Trust warmly invites community group leaders and not-for-profit organisations along to our next ‘Meet the Funder’ session taking place on Thursday 15th April 2021, 2-3 pm.
The Canal & River Trust received a grant from Sport England to help reduce the negative impact of COVID-19 and the widening of the inequalities in sport and physical activity for the communities of Sefton.
Funding is aimed at community groups working with Sport England priority audiences which research suggests are suffering more from the impact of the disease than is the case with the wider population. These groups are people from Lower Socio-Economic Groups, Black Asian or Minority Ethnic Communities, Disabled People and People with Long-Term Health Conditions (LTC). This fund is designed to deal with ‘here and now’ issues that our sector organisations are facing as a result of the impact of COVID-19. It is about supporting organisations in the community now so that they have a future to plan for and minimising the impact of COVID-19 on activity levels in underrepresented groups. Projects should include delivery on your local Canal & River Trust waterways, be located in Sefton and aim to reach Sport England target audiences.
Grant Request: The minimum grant request is £500, and the maximum is £5,000. Your project should be deliverable within a 6-month timescale (from the date you receive funding) and completed no later than 31 March 2022.
