Guidance for the Period of National Mourning

In response to the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh on Friday, the government has announced a period of national mourning up to and including 17 April when his funeral will be held. The impact of this on the public, industry and organisations is outlined in this guidance. It includes:

– Holding a one minute’s silence at 15:00 on 17 April
– Guidance on flying flags at half mast
– Laying flowers or other memorial items
– Donating to His Royal Highness’ patronages here
– Signing the online Book of Condolence here

Finally it states that all public services and any services involved in the government response to Covid-19 will continue as usual throughout the mourning period.
