Liverpool City Region Volunteering Hub Launch with The VS6 Partnership
The VS6 Partnership are pleased to announce the launch of the Liverpool City Region Volunteering Hub website, the central place for all volunteering needs across the city region.
The hub revolutionises volunteering by supporting the co-ordination and management of volunteering across all six Liverpool City Region (LCR) boroughs into one platform providing wider promotion of opportunities and a shared database of registered volunteers looking to give their time to our LCR communities.
Organisations can register on the hub’s website to promote their volunteering opportunities for free and access a pool of volunteers across LCR. All opportunities are listed on the hub website, and due to the interoperability of the hub with volunteer centres across LCR boroughs, opportunities will also be promoted at a local level. The hub also supports the management of volunteers including accepting volunteers, logging volunteer hours, GDPR compliance and producing data reports on volunteering activities.
The hub was developed in partnership with TeamKinetic, who designed the bespoke management software, and is funded by Mayor Steve Rotheram and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, to build upon the legacy of generosity and volunteering from the pandemic.
Originally, the idea of the hub was developed following TeamKinetic’s work with Halton & St Helens VCA in developing a digital volunteer management platform which was enhanced during the pandemic in response to the rising demand for both volunteers needed and residents wanting to get involved in volunteering. Following the success of this platform and further funding from the Combined Authority, each borough in the city region now has their own digital volunteer platform run by their local CVS, which now all feed into our newly launched Liverpool City Region Volunteering Hub.

“Volunteering is fundamental to community action. The local infrastructure organisations of the six boroughs of our City Region have created a means for people to volunteer and for voluntary and community organisations to promote volunteering opportunities in a way that builds on what is happening locally, and to evidence the value of volunteering. We believe this is one of the first such portals in the country and has been possible through investment and support from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority”
Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, said:
“For some of the most vulnerable in our communities, having the support of a volunteer during the pandemic was a lifeline. We witnessed so many incredible acts of generosity from our residents, who dedicated their time to help others, that it inspired an idea to create a permanent, lasting legacy of their kindness.
“The Volunteer Hub will make it easier than ever to connect people with opportunities in our area and will hopefully inspire a new generation of people to donate their time to worthwhile causes. Society is so much richer for the generosity and selflessness of volunteers and, fortunately, we have them in abundance in the Liverpool City Region.”
