Equal Voices In Action Sefton

Equal Voices in Action is a co-creation platform where people come together to share ideas, learn from each other and help shape the future. We especially welcome people from diverse backgrounds and communities, because every voice matters. Together, we can turn conversations into action that makes a real difference.

The Equal Voices in Action (EVA) programme, running from November 2025 to April 2027, brings together residents, community groups and local services to shape a fairer, kinder and more inclusive Sefton. Each forum explores a community priority using creative, participatory methods. Future themes will be shaped directly by what participants share throughout the year.

In Person Meetings:

The meeting will consist of a Welcome from the Chair – Charanjeet Birdie.

  • An opportunity for everyone to introduce themselves.
  • A run through Minutes from last meeting.
  • Guest Speakers – Confirmed ahead of each meeting.
  • Open discussion. Network members concerns.
  • Opportunity for engagement and any other business.

HELD: Equal Voices in Action Series
HELD focuses on sustainable anti-racism, community cohesion and inclusion. It is for people doing important work in their communities who need space to pause, reconnect and find practical ways to keep going.
Each session will include a professionally facilitated somatic workshop, community spotlight stories, reflection and a networking lunch. You can attend one session or all of them.
Hold
Wednesday 19 August 2026, 10:00am–2:00pm
Southport Community Centre
Session 1 explores how people doing anti-racism and community work can stay grounded, supported and have boundaries while holding space for others.
Embody
Tuesday 22 September 2026, 10:00am–2:00pm
Crosby Library
Session 2 looks at how body-based awareness, presence and regulation can help people stay connected during difficult conversations about racism, inequality and community cohesion.
Develop
Tuesday 27 October 2026, 10:00am–2:00pm

Session 3 focuses on carrying the learning forward by building stronger relationships, sharing practical ideas and developing sustainable action across communities.
