Yellow Weather Warning for Snow Issued

The Met office has issued a yellow warning this week for Thursday 8 February and Friday 9 February, with the warning in place between 6am Thursday to 6am Friday.

Disruption is expected and the extend of the affected areas can be views on the map below:

A period of snowfall could bring some disruption on Thursday and into Friday morning.

What to expect (across the North West)

  • There is a chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
  • There is a chance that some rural communities could become cut off.
  • There is a chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

Elderly relatives or neighbours

Please look out for elderly relatives or neighbours and check to see if they need any practical help and that they are well.
