Liverpool City Region Black, Asian, and Minority communities reciprocal mentoring scheme.
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is seeking 40 volunteers from the Liverpool City Region’s Black, Asian, and Minority communities to pair with 40 senior leaders from organisations across Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral.
Following its partnership work with Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) and in response to the findings of the 2024 LCVS report “Addressing the Disparity in Accessibility to Funds and Support for Black-led Non-profits” LJMU are also keen for leaders from funders and commissioning organisations to participate in this programme, as well as representatives from organisations from minoritised communities, in order to help strengthen the dialogue between funders and Black, Asian, and Minority communities.
The scheme, delivered in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University and the Liverpool City Region Race Equality Hub, aims to build understanding and drive meaningful change.
Reciprocal Mentoring scheme objectives:
- Help you understand challenges related to race equality.
- Equip you with tools to address these challenges in their organisations.
- Foster a sense of belonging and inclusion for ethnically diverse staff.
All participants will receive training. All workshops will take place in Liverpool, with venues communicated upon sign-up.
Please note: Ethnically diverse individuals must either live or work within the LCR, which includes Halton, Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral. Consequently, any staff members from your organisation who live or work in these areas are eligible to participate.
