Adventures in Heritage: Archiving at Home, Community Heritage Trails, Creative Workshops
Dr John Maguire, our Heritage Development Officer recently led a wonderful heritage trail around Bootle. Over 30 participants enjoyed an educational and entertaining walk through history.

John also wanted to let you know that he will be running a FREE workshop in August that may be of interest.
Tuesday 18th August 11 am – 1 pm at Sefton CVS Burlington House
Learn how to safeguard your precious home, organisational history, local treasures, and community memories at our FREE archiving workshop. This interactive session provides expert guidance designed specifically to help local VCFS (Voluntary, Community, and Faith Sector) organisations, charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and voluntary groups safely preserve their unique heritage, documents, photographs, and artifacts for generations to come.
During the session, participants will learn professional, practical methods using standard preservation materials (such as acid-free folders and proper storage techniques) to handle and protect historical materials. You will walk away with the confidence, knowledge, and actionable steps to start organising and securing your group’s archive right away.

There will be a number of drop-in arts activities in the Libraries too –
- Thursday 13th Aug – Netherton Library: 2:30 pm till 4:30 pm
- Thursday 3rd Sep – Formby Library: 12 pm – 2pm
- Saturday 12th Sep – Crosby Library 11 – 1 pm
