Every Child Matters (ECM) Forum

The primary purpose of the Every Child Matters (ECM) forum is to support and develop a strategic approach to the delivery of services for children, young people and families in Sefton.

Aims

The aims of the Every Child Matters Forum are to:

  • Encourage VCF influence on partnership work to improve outcomes for children and young people
  • Support and facilitate VCF involvement and participation in the development and delivery of services for children, young people and families
  • Encourage the development of a co-ordinated strategic approach to services, embedding best practice and partnership working

The Every Child Matters forum meets on a quarterly basis with a theme set for each meeting. Previous themes have covered topics such as perinatal care, early years education, safeguarding and skills for young people.

The ECM Forum plays a key role in the development and planning of services for children, young people and their families in Sefton. The forum brings together key local partners, members of the community and local authority to develop strategies

There are also two subgroups of the ECM Forum: The Thrive Network Sefton and Sefton Perinatal Community of Practice.
Information is shared through regular news bulletins which include notes from the meetings.
