The Hearth Network
Quilting Project

We’re working with older people in Southport to record their memories of the town, focusing on iconic spaces such as The Floral Hall and The Lido, as well as faith venues and traditional trades like shrimping. These stories will be translated onto a shared community quilt by a team of volunteers, which will then be displayed in community spaces across Southport.

People can get involved in three ways:
– Interviewing community members who have memories of key events and places they’d like to share.
– Sharing their memories of key events, places or jobs.
– Crafting the quilt, ideally people who have experience quilting and sewists for appliqué work.
