Sefton CVS are encouraging local organisations, businesses and individuals who wish to support the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine to donate to the urgent appeals coordinated by specialist charities including the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), the British Red Cross and UNICEF.

‘Homes for Ukraine’ Scheme

The Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, has announced the launch of a webpage for sponsors to record their interest, ahead of Phase One of the scheme opening for applications this Friday (18 March 2022).

The Homes for Ukraine scheme will allow individuals, charities, community groups and businesses in the UK to bring Ukrainians to safety – including those with no family ties to the UK.

Local Response and Donation Appeals

Blundellsands Methodist Church Collection Centre

Blundellsands Methodist Church are collecting donations of various items including clothing, bedding, food, toiletries, medicine.

Donations can be dropped off every Sunday 2pm-5pm until Easter. Items will be set to International Aid for onward distribution in Ukraine and to refugees arriving in Romania, Moldova and other countries.

Formby Elim Church

accepting donations of various items including clothing, bedding, food, toiletries, medicine.

Donations can be dropped off on Thursdays and Fridays 10am to 4pm. Items are collected on behalf of International Aid for onward distribution.

Lakeside Church are collecting donations of dried food items, tinned foods, medical supplies.

Donations can be dropped off throughout the week between 9am – 4pm. Items are collected on behalf of International Aid for onward distribution.
