The Session:
As practitioners, our work involves protecting and safeguarding children and young people.

This briefing will enable attendees to:
➢ Understand Child Exploitation
➢ Spot the Signs and Symptoms
➢ Identify Risk Factors (including risk factors outside the family environment)

The briefing will provide an overview of the recent work undertaken with agencies in Sefton in partnership with Research in Practice (RIP) and the Children’s Society. Pan Merseyside have agreed a Child Exploitation Assessment Tool (CE2) and this will be launched at the event. Attendees will learn more about the tool and how to use and access it.

Sefton LSCB: Guidance for joint targeted area inspections on the theme of child exploitation

Sefton LSCB have advised that Ofsted have recently published the new guidance for Joint Targeted Area Inspections (JTAI) Child Exploitation, focusing on CSE, CCE and County lines.

There has been a very important (and surprising) change in the published guidance; Annex A Lists 6 (CIN), 7 (CPP), and 8 (CLA) with CCE/CSE information will now be required by 5pm on the Monday, i.e. on the same day as notification. All other deadlines are therefore a day earlier. Attached is the full guidance, and the link is below.
