Job Title: Sefton Young Advisor
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Hours: Sessional
Location: Burlington House, Southport Community Centre and various location across the borough
Responsible to: Young Advisors Project Officer

Please note: applicants for this job must be aged 15-22 (25 with SEND) and must live or attend education in Sefton.

Sefton CVS are appointing new members to its team of Young Advisors, who help local organisations to understand the interests of young people, and how to get their message across to them in a more youth-friendly way.

In this paid position, for 15 to 22-year-olds (25 with SEND), Young Advisors are trained to act as consultants, speaking out for young people to ensure that their thoughts and feelings are considered when decisions are taken that affect them. They also help organisations to ‘youth proof’ the way they operate, and to attract and maintain the interest of young people in their work.

Major research and consultation projects carried out by the Young Advisors in the past have focused on issues including Climate Change, Health and Wellbeing and Transport.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 17 September 2025.

Candidates shortlisted for interview will need to be available to attend a Group Workshop at Burlington House, Crosby Road North, Waterloo on Saturday 27 September 2025, 10am – 12 noon – all applicants must be available to attend on this date.

After the workshop, those selected to go through to interview will be contacted. Individual interviews will take place virtually on Zoom at a time agreed with the candidate on either the week commencing 29 September and 6 October 2025.

Successful candidates will need to be available on Thursday 30 October 2025 for a full training day 10am – 4pm. Please note, this is October half-term in Sefton.
