Sefton CVS have secured ‘Community Transition Fund’ grant funding from Sefton Council to provide free DEC assessments to voluntary, community and faith (VCF) sector organisation in Sefton.

The ‘Living Well’ bus will be at at Formby Waitrose from 10.30 to 4pm on Friday 30th June providing spring COVID booster vaccinations, and also health checks if time allows.

Sefton households with pre-payment gas or electricity meters have just days to claim unused Energy Support Scheme vouchers, with the scheme ending on Friday 30 June.

Sefton will light up this week to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Windrush migration. A flag marking Windrush Day, which takes place on Thursday 22nd June, will also fly from Southport Town Hall.

At last week’s NHS ConfedExpo in Manchester, Adele Thompson from Sefton CVS, Vicky Keeley from Sefton Carers Centre and Sharon Dooner from Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board showcased their innovative approach to community partnership.

Sefton CVS invites suitably qualified and experienced applicants to provide a quotation for professional evaluation services to conduct a project evaluation for their new Project ‘Hearts of Gold - Sefton At 50’. 

Round 2 of the fund is open for applications from Monday 19 June 2023, with £361,000 available across the Liverpool City Region. Grants of between £2,500 and £10,000 are available.

There are just over two weeks left for people to get their Spring COVID booster. Friday 30 June is also the last chance for anyone who has not yet had their first or second COVID-19 vaccine dose to come forward.

Following the borough-focused briefing sessions held online w/c 5 June, a further session – covering completely different content – will be held online on Thursday 15 June, 2-3pm. This session will focus on technical hints and tips to consider when setting up (or upgrading) a public-access computer facility.

To mark Carers Week, Sefton Council will be celebrating the brilliant work done by unpaid carers, as well as highlighting the services provided by Sefton Carers Centre.
